Flue Gas Filtration Systems

Industrial Flue Gas Filtration Systems for Energy & Combustion Plants

Flue gas filtration systems are essential for controlling particulate emissions from industrial combustion processes. In energy production plants such as biomass facilities, district heating plants and industrial boiler installations, combustion generates dust particles that must be removed before exhaust gases are released into the atmosphere.

Teldust designs and manufactures robust flue gas filtration systems engineered for reliable operation under demanding temperature and dust load conditions. Our systems ensure efficient separation of particulate matter while supporting compliance with strict environmental emission standards.

Flue Gas Filtration Systems For Combustion

Teldust flue gas filtration systems are installed in a wide range of combustion-based energy applications designed and supplied by our customers. We work closely to find the right filtration solution for each project, and have cooperated with leading European suppliers of combustion systems for many years.

In boiler installations, filtration systems must handle fluctuating loads while maintaining stable emission levels. For biomass combustion plants, fuel variability often results in changing ash characteristics and dust concentrations. These conditions require filtration systems designed with appropriate filter media selection and cleaning technology.

Waste-to-energy plants and industrial combustion facilities also rely on high-efficiency dust separation to ensure long-term performance and regulatory compliance.

Each installation is engineered according to gas temperature, airflow volume, dust load and emission requirements.

What Is Flue Gas Filtration?

Flue gas filtration is the process of removing particulate matter from combustion exhaust gases. During the combustion of fuels such as biomass, wood chips, pellets, waste or coal, fine ash and dust particles are carried with the flue gas stream.

Without effective industrial flue gas filtration, these particles would be emitted through the stack, contributing to air pollution and non-compliance with regulatory requirements.

Modern flue gas filtration systems use textile filter media to capture particles while maintaining stable airflow and acceptable pressure drop. The filtered dust is discharged from the system, and clean gas is released to the atmosphere.

Flue Gas Filtration Applications

Teldust flue gas filtration systems are used across a wide range of energy and industrial applications:

  • Boilers
  • Steam boilers
  • Hot water boilers
  • Industrial process boilers
  • District heating plants

Our filtration systems ensure stable boiler emission control, even during load variations.

Biomass Combustion Plants

  • Wood chip combustion
  • Pellet-fired boilers
  • Straw and agricultural residue
  • Waste wood

Biomass combustion dust filtration presents specific challenges due to varying fuel quality and ash characteristics. Our solutions are designed to handle these fluctuations while maintaining high separation efficiency.

Waste-to-Energy & Industrial Combustion

  • Municipal waste incineration
  • Industrial waste combustion
  • Process exhaust filtration

Each installation is engineered according to gas temperature, dust concentration, and plant layout.

Customized Flue Gas Filtration for DHP

Together with our partner, Teldust has developed a customized flue gas filtration solution with our Greenline filter for a district heating plant in Denmark. This plant serves 690 consumers and was facing the challenge of outdated and worn-down equipment. The end customer was focused on meeting current and future environmental regulations while keeping heating costs stable for their consumers.

To address these needs, Teldust designed a tailor-made Greenline filter specifically for this district heating plant. This advanced filtration system ensures the plant meets stringent environmental standards both now and in the future. Our Green Line filters are engineered to effectively capture and filter flue gas emissions with temperatures for up to 128 °C, including the harmful toxic fumes produced during incineration processes, such as burning straw.

Flue Gas Filtration for Heating Plant

In collaboration with our partner, Teldust developed and delivered a Greenline filter system for a Danish Heating Plant, which provides heating across nearly 200 km² in Southern Denmark. This project was initiated to enhance the plant’s environmental profile and future-proof its operations.

To effectively capture and filter these emissions, Teldust provided a custom Greenline filter. This high-temperature filter is specifically engineered for incineration plants that burn materials like straw, biomass, waste, and wood chips. The Greenline filter is designed to minimize compressed air consumption, making it both energy-efficient and cost-effective. This solution enables Egtved Heating Plant to achieve its sustainability goals while maintaining operational efficiency.
